Big Leap – decisions

In this video that I recorded indoors, there is no rooster to welcome you with his song only my little dog Thor making a big noise chewing a plastic bottle. More seriously though, this video talk is dedicated to one of the most challenging aspects of our lives – decision making. Our lives are bombarded with the need to make decisions, some hardly noticeable or others that shape the rest of our lives. Particularly challenging are post-decision feelings of regret – we are rarely satisfied with the decisions we make. Either we keep regretting or try to convince ourselves that our decision was a good one. These ruminations keep our minds continually occupied, making steady restfulness difficult to experience. In such situations, the attitude of Openness, Discipline and Discerning Intelligence help us to clearly see this ongoing spectacle, allowing for a restful state of mind in which decision making becomes clearer.
